What is MoDT?
Miniforum has launched a range of MoDT motherboards, all with similar names, but what exactly is the difference between them? But what exactly is the difference between them?
First of all, let's understand what a MoDT (Mobile on DeskTop) motherboard is: the essence of a MoDT motherboard is to put the processor of a laptop into a desktop computer, with the aim of taking advantage of the low power consumption characteristics of mobile processors while maximizing performance close to that of traditional desktop processors. This technology allows desktops to be more mobile and flexible while performing better in terms of power consumption and heat generation.
Specific differences:
1: Size
BD795M is an M-ATX motherboard and BD790i/BD795i SE is an iTX motherboard. Different sizes of motherboards are suitable for different case sizes, and you can choose the motherboard that meets your requirements according to your preferred case and size!
2: Performance
They are all powered by AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX processor and AMD Radeon 610M graphics with 16 cores and 32 threads, 64 MB L3 cache and a frequency of up to 5.4 GHz. The BD795 SE and BD795M are only limited in frequency and power consumption, with a 5% difference in measured single-core performance and a 15% difference in multi-core performance.
3: Design
a. Fan The BD790i and BD795i SE can only be equipped with a conventional 12x12 cm fan.
The BD795M can be equipped with an LGA1700 radiator, and the heat dissipation capacity is better than the other two models, regardless of whether the air-cooled or water-cooled technology is restricted.
